You folks are amazing at dragging things from your memories! Last week, I asked whether anyone remembered the construction of Walrus amphibious biplanes at Weybridge and several of you have contacted me to say that you did.
Today’s the day for the final ‘topping out’ ceremony at the new Walton Bridge – and thanks to the organisational efforts of our local boat clubs, there will be a sail past to mark the event along with a number of other events.
I’ve often mentioned the activities of the waterways charity Thames21 in this column but I thought it might be helpful to take a closer look at the organisation’s background.
